The circles and quadrants activities are below.

For the circles, ask yourself

Self:

  • What comes up for me when I teach or think of this?

  • What assumptions or gaps might I carry?

Others:

  • Whose voices are centered? Missing?

  • How might different students experience this? What Big Feelings may surface?

Larger World:

  • What story about society does this teach?

  • What narratives does it reinforce, challenge, and/or expand? (Sim & Diff)

For the quadrants, ask yourself (with your topic in mind):

Me:

  • What do I believe is just and fair?

Others:

  • What do others need or what would be “right”?

Historical Precedent:

  • What has happened before related to this topic?

Action / Inquiry:

  • What can we (or students) do with this knowledge?
